School Facts

1. A private, non-profit school for students grades 1 - 8

2. 9-month program

3. Annual Tuition Fee is $10,500. (Please see Tuition Fee Schedule)

4. Partial Scholarships are available to qualified families.

5. Lunches:  Hot lunches may be bought at the school cafeteria or sack lunches may be brought from home.

6. Special dietary restrictions will be respected and monitored.

1. Small class sizes with low staff to student ratios of approximately 1:5.

2. The academic curriculum adheres to Nevada Learning Standards with accommodations made where necessary for specific individual needs.

The Home - School Connection

Communication between home and school is a very important aspect of the student’s overall success in our program. 

1. Daily written communication between home and school is facilitated through communication notebooks.

2. Positive Behavior Supports and Interventions are reinforced and become more effective through a collaboration between home and school.

Our Academic Program

The Achievement Academy’s curriculum meets Nevada Standards and is customized for each student.  Through identifying their unique strengths and weaknesses, we are consistently able to meet their individual needs.  Our research-based programs are designed to ensure mastery of skills and maximize learning.  Having the flexibility to offer instructions that are most appropriate for each student, instead of trying to fit the child into a particular program, enables each student to make significant academic gains.

· Saxon Math:  Saxon's research-based and innovative, instructional approach breaks complex concepts into simpler increments, recognizing that smaller pieces of information are easier to teach and easier to learn.  The instruction, practice, and assessment of those increments are systematically distributed across a grade level.  The distributed approach ensures that students gain and retain critical thinking concepts and use them in real-world situations. 

· Harcourt Trophies Reading and Language Arts Program:  Trophies is a research-based, developmental reading/language arts program. Explicit phonics instruction; direct reading instruction; guided reading strategies; phonemic awareness instruction; systematic, intervention strategies; integrated language arts components; and state-of-the-art assessment tools ensure every student successfully learns to read.

· Social Studies:  Provides standards-based content, developed from the latest research and organized around the themes of Social Studies. The program integrates reading support in every lesson and instills citizenship through real-life role models.

· Science:  - Scientifically research-based print and technology materials that instruct, nurture, and challenge students to maximize their potential.  Earth, Physical and Life Science.

· Physical Education:  Specific instruction designed to enhance fine and gross motor skills, learn game rules and sportsmanship, and develop lifelong exercise habits.

· Library/Technology:  Computers are utilized to practice grade-appropriate keyboard, word processing, and internet-based research skills.

· Art:  Introduces art theory and appreciation through various art techniques and hands-on experiences. 

· Music:  Music theory and appreciation, in addition to various playing and listening experiences.

As our budget allows, the following FREE meetings and workshops will be offered to our families: 

Parent Support Group

The Asperger’s Syndrome/High Functioning Autism Support Group is currently being held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7-9pm in the Wengert Conference Room at NV Energy (formerly Nevada Power Co.) located at 6226 W. Sahara Avenue.  Conference Room and Parking are in the rear of the building.  This support group provides support, counseling and information to parents and educators of children with these disorders.  (For more information, please visit the Resource Section of this website.)
